Knitted on a 7-gauge machine, so thick enough to stand in for slippers on a tiled floor. Merino for warmth, nylon reinforcing at heel and toe so the wool does not wear through, and a ribbed leg that does not slide down.
Wool socks felt if they go through a 40 °C wash - they come out smaller and denser. Wash them at 30 on a wool cycle and they last for years.
